My husband and I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Emma to prepare for the birth of our first baby. Emma’s classes were both informative and relaxing and we both feel so prepared for a peaceful, natural birth at home, thanks to our HyponoBirthing practice. If you’re interested in HypnoBirthing, I would highly recommend working with Emma.
Emily, Berkhamsted
I couldn’t thank Emma enough for teaching me and my husband the art of Hypnobirthing. Even though I ended up being induced I still used the the Hypnobirthing method and had an incredible natural birth. I couldn’t recommend Emma enough, thank you!

Emma has a warm and intuitive teaching style. She guided me through my pregnancy and helped me overcome my birthing fears and have the most empowering and rewarding birthing experience. I actually enjoyed it. For that I am hugely thankful.
Sarah, Berkhamsted
The environment was positive and welcoming. The hypnobirthing course was informative, educational and provided us with the tools to have at the birth. I feel more knowledgeable and confident and my partner is now more involved in the process. We feel excited for the birth

I just want to say a massive thank you, the hypnobirthing skills you taught us on the course were invaluable during the birth. It gave us so much confidence, the whole experience was calm, anxiety free and positive.
Jessica, Leighton Buzzard
The course was really informative and I learnt so much about birth that I never knew. It was lovely to discuss concerns and other ideas for birth with other couples. I feel a lot calmer and positive about giving birth and more confident that I can handle whatever happens during our birthing experience. I have enjoyed the relaxations so much. I am glad I have plenty of them to listen to before our birthing day.
Amelia, Leighton Buzzard
I did not have any type of pain relief at all and the sensations I had were completely bearable. Iain was also really great, he stayed in control and calm, did the soft touch massage and was generally very soothing. I put my amazing birth experience down to the hypnobirthing lessons and doing the relaxations and birthing affirmations (almost) daily, so thank you for teaching Iain and I the skills we needed to make that happen.
Penny, Rickmansworth
Just to say many thanks. Had it not been for hypnobirthing, I would have not survived! Our baby Eden was born 23rd December and using the hypnobirthing tools saved me! I got to full dilation within 3 hours of the first sign of labour and the breathing literally took the pain away like an anaesthetic would, I was surprised how powerful it was. I cannot emphasise enough the empowerment, confidence, vital knowledge and coping tools that I gained from hypnobirthing. I rarely recommend courses but this is a must for every woman. To be candid I would advise this course is taught to every mother-to-be as standard, simply to equip women with the physical, emotional/mental skills & techniques required to undergo the powerful experience of childbirth; and to access the inner strength required for such a feat!

Very often with hypnobirthing, couples feel more confident to opt for a home birth, choosing the familiarity, private and peaceful environment that they can offer. Alternatively, many couples opt for birth centre births, particularly for first time births. Birth centres are usually in the hospital and are midwife-led, catering predominantly for natural birth. For some, the labour ward is necessary for medical reasons but is still a good environment for hypnobirthing. Hypnobirthing can be regarded as a sophisticated form of pain management but there is a lot more to it. You can read all about it on my ‘What is Hypnobirthing’ page.
Hypnobirthing should be regarded as an acquired skill, with its success heavily relying on the amount of practice you put into it during the entirety of the 4-week course. Around 65%-70% of Hypnobirthing mothers typically do not feel the need to use any medical forms of pain relief according to the research conducted by Hypnobirthing Institute. In fact, approximately 69% of the hypnobirthing mums I have taught did not require any pain-relieving medication. A further 20%-25% of mums only typically need something mild, such as gas and air. The last 5%-10% of the Hypnobirthing mums experience ‘special circumstance’ where medical intervention is the only option. Even in these cases, the mums claimed that hypnobirthing techniques helped them in a lot of different ways. You can check out some individual experiences right here on my blog.
Even though epidurals might seem a good idea, they can complicate things to an unmanageable degree. Mums who have had epidurals have complained about not being able to move around freely or change their birthing positions, which can be highly challenging if the baby is in a difficult position for delivery. Moreover, epidurals can actually prolong the overall birthing time and increase the chances of a forceps delivery or vacuum extraction. Mothers who have had natural births also mention that they recovered faster and with no unforeseen complications.
With Hypnobirthing, you’re provided with the best opportunity to have a natural, drug-free birth as it greatly alleviates the prospects of needing pain relief. This way is a lot more beneficial for both the mother and the baby.
You should wait till after your 20th pregnancy week and ideally before your 30th week. If you are later than that though, you can still join the course, even up to your 38th week, so please do get in touch.
It is advisable to practise whenever you can between your regular online hypnobirthing classes and up to your birthing day since it is more of an acquired skill than a gift. The 4-week time frame of our interactive hypnobirthing course enables you and your birth partner to feel fully confident and prepared as you approach your birthing day.
Hypnobirthing is not for anyone in particular. It can be beneficial in many ways for all expecting couples. In general, hypnobirthing is best suited for anyone wanting to feel more confident and prepared about childbirth. First-time mums with no prior childbirth experience often look toward hypnobirthing to dispel their fears. Second-time mothers might be looking for an alternative approach to childbirth after a difficult first experience. For example, if they’ve had a C-section before, they might look toward hypnobirthing to help them give birth vaginally.
Hypnosis is not anything weird that will put you in a trance. In actual fact, it just allows you to enter a more relaxed state. Self-hypnosis can work for anyone as long as they put the necessary effort into practising this skill throughout the duration of the 4-week online hypnobirthing course or in the time afterward. Moreover, my online hypnobirthing course for Swindon couples involves so much more than mere self-hypnosis. You’ll learn a whole new philosophy and approach to giving birth.
Yes, hypnobirthing not only helps you, it also benefits your baby in numerous ways. During pregnancy, whatever you experience the baby does as well. So, when you’re calm, your body releases endorphins which are the body’s natural relaxant. These have been found in the placenta as well as the umbilical cord and might serve to help the baby get accustomed to life outside the womb and make its journey more comfortable. Research suggests that babies of mums who’ve had a natural birth, are a lot more alert and show enhanced interest in breastfeeding behaviours.
Yes, at minimum your internet should have a 2Mbps upload speed. You can test it using Speedtest by Ookla.
There are a lot of downloads on the market to help you with your pregnancy but they would never give you the same interactive experience as with my online hypnobirthing classes. My courses ensure that you learn all of the important techniques that are necessary for experiencing a calm, relaxing birth and you can ask questions at any time.
No matter where you are located, as long as you have a good internet connection, you take one of our classes in the comfort of your own home.
