My husband and I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Emma to prepare for the birth of our first baby. Emma’s classes were both informative and relaxing and we both feel so prepared for a peaceful, natural birth at home, thanks to our HyponoBirthing practice. If you’re interested in HypnoBirthing, I would highly recommend working with Emma.
Emily, Berkhamsted
I couldn’t thank Emma enough for teaching me and my husband the art of Hypnobirthing. Even though I ended up being induced I still used the the Hypnobirthing method and had an incredible natural birth. I couldn’t recommend Emma enough, thank you!
Louise, Tring
Emma has a warm and intuitive teaching style. She guided me through my pregnancy and helped me overcome my birthing fears and have the most empowering and rewarding birthing experience. I actually enjoyed it. For that I am hugely thankful.
Sarah, Berkhamsted
The environment was positive and welcoming. The hypnobirthing course was informative, educational and provided us with the tools to have at the birth. I feel more knowledgeable and confident and my partner is now more involved in the process. We feel excited for the birth
Clare, Watford
I just want to say a massive thank you, the hypnobirthing skills you taught us on the course were invaluable during the birth. It gave us so much confidence, the whole experience was calm, anxiety free and positive.
Jessica, Leighton Buzzard
The course was really informative and I learnt so much about birth that I never knew. It was lovely to discuss concerns and other ideas for birth with other couples. I feel a lot calmer and positive about giving birth and more confident that I can handle whatever happens during our birthing experience. I have enjoyed the relaxations so much. I am glad I have plenty of them to listen to before our birthing day.
Amelia, Leighton Buzzard
I did not have any type of pain relief at all and the sensations I had were completely bearable. Iain was also really great, he stayed in control and calm, did the soft touch massage and was generally very soothing. I put my amazing birth experience down to the hypnobirthing lessons and doing the relaxations and birthing affirmations (almost) daily, so thank you for teaching Iain and I the skills we needed to make that happen.
Penny, Rickmansworth
Just to say many thanks. Had it not been for hypnobirthing, I would have not survived! Our baby Eden was born 23rd December and using the hypnobirthing tools saved me! I got to full dilation within 3 hours of the first sign of labour and the breathing literally took the pain away like an anaesthetic would, I was surprised how powerful it was. I cannot emphasise enough the empowerment, confidence, vital knowledge and coping tools that I gained from hypnobirthing. I rarely recommend courses but this is a must for every woman. To be candid I would advise this course is taught to every mother-to-be as standard, simply to equip women with the physical, emotional/mental skills & techniques required to undergo the powerful experience of childbirth; and to access the inner strength required for such a feat!
Zohar, Tring
Hypnobirthing often gives couples the confidence to go for a home birth attracted by the tranquility, familiarity and privacy of the environment. Many couples opt for a birth centre which is run by midwives but usually attached to a hospital. The labour ward is another option and may be the only option for some due to medical circumstances.

You can read all the details about the complete Hypnobirthing process on my ‘What is Hypnobirthing’ page. It includes the methods, the benefits, and a lot more.
A lot of things need to be considered regarding the whole childbirth process. Hypnobirthing is a skill that needs to be worked on. The more you practise in the time between your online hypnobirthing classes, the better it will be. Statistically speaking, according to the Hypnobirthing Institute, about 65%-70% of mums who deliver via hypnobirthing techniques do not need any pain relief. The remaining 20%-25% need only air or gas. Lastly, 5%-10% are the mums who face special circumstances and require medical intervention. Although many of these mums have testified that hypnobirthing still helped them and made it a lot easier to cope. You can read about their amazing stories here.
Epidurals might feel amazing but they come with a lot of side effects and complications. In most cases, mums who get an epidural can’t move around and even face trouble changing their birthing positions. Furthermore, research proves that getting an epidural can prolong the birthing time and increase the probability of external interventions such as vacuum extraction and forceps delivery. Mums who have had drug-free birth often mention having an easier and faster delivery and quicker recovery. Most importantly, whatever the mum ingests, the baby gets affected by it. So, it is better to prioritise a natural birth.
After having your 20-week scan and before your 30th week of pregnancy would be an ideal time to begin this course. It’s OK if you’re a little further along than 30 weeks, up to 38 weeks in fact, and I would be happy to fit the course in for you.
I would definitely advise you to practise as much as you can in the time between classes and up to your birthing day because hypnobirthing is an acquired skill. So, it is only as effective as you make it. The 4-week course gives you ample time to be fully prepared, confident, and relaxed as you near your delivery day. f you feel like asking me anything regarding the courses, don’t hesitate to reach me on the phone or via email.
Hypnobirthing is a process with ample benefits. It is ideal for anyone who wants to feel at ease and have confidence about going into labour and delivering a baby. Most of the time, mums expecting for the first time tend to turn to hypnobirthing to calm their nerves and get rid of fears regarding pregnancy. Second-time or subsequent mums, on the other hand, might turn to hypnobirthing as a more pleasant alternative to their previous childbirth experience. In addition, mothers looking to deliver vaginally after a caesarean delivery can find solace in hypnobirthing techniques that can help them tackle their fears regarding vaginal birth.
There is a lot of stigma regarding hypnosis so it is important to establish that it only refers to entering into relaxation. You’re never under any trance and you’re always aware of what goes on around you. You can chat and continue to function as you normally do, just with a calmer mindset. You can learn and improve your self-hypnosis skills throughout the duration of the 4-week online hypnobirthing course. It should be mentioned that there is a lot more to my online hypnobirthing classes than just self-hypnosis; they expose you to a whole philosophy and new-found approach to childbirth.
Babies and mums both can definitely benefit from hypnobirthing as it increases the chances of having a drug-free birth. Moreover, the calmer you are during labour, the better it is for the baby as it will feel the same sensations as you from within the womb.
When you’re relaxed, your body releases natural relaxant chemicals called endorphins. These are also found inside the placenta and umbilical cord. These endorphins might help to accustom the baby to life outside the womb and make the journey more pleasant for it. According to research, babies who are born naturally tend to be more responsive and show enhanced interest in breastfeeding habits such as massaging the mother’s breasts

Yes. You might find a lot of downloads on the market to help you with your relaxation techniques. However, they won’t give you the same experience as a live interactive online course.
