    FAQs

Hypnobirthing is a unique birthing process that provides a calm and peaceful delivery. The hypnobirthing’s primary purpose is to aid mums-to-be in staying happy, free from anxiety and depression, and to allay any fears about their labour. This form of birth takes less time than a normal one and also enables a delivery with less pain.

No, there is never a complete guarantee of painless birthing even with hypnobirthing because it varies from person to person. The pain level will be less if you have a good knowledge and understanding of hypnobirthing and the key techniques.

According to studies, it is known that around 65%-70% of women who go for hypnobirthing doesn’t require any pain-reducing medicines for the labour process. Other than this figure, around 20%-25% of hypnobirthing women only need light treatments or doses to stay away from massive pain, including air and gas. However, 5%-10% of women have exceptional cases that require some pain relief. But there are still various benefits that hypnobirthing can provide to these women, including the power to fight depression, and maintaining a peaceful environment for the birthing process.

It is essential to realise that if the mother takes any medication, there is a chance that it can affect her baby and can cause complications. We cannot ultimately make the labour drug free because there is a dire need for painkillers, but epidurals can make labour very tough. Without the epidural, the mother can move freely, use the washroom, and use her energy to help the baby come out. According to research, epidural enhances the labour time and creates conditions in which forceps or vacuum become necessary.

Hypnobirthing is here to the rescue of birthing mothers. It helps them educate themselves about the whole labour process and teaches them how to stay positive and calm during the whole procedure. Sometimes it becomes necessary to use interventions like forceps and vacuum (up to 10% of cases according to WHO), but generally speaking, your labour will go smoothly and without complications. Hypnobirthing makes sure that birthing mothers are as relaxed as possible, leading to a smooth delivery.

You must start learning hypnobirthing as soon as you reach the 20th week of your pregnancy. However, if you are late and don’t start until after your 30th week, we can still show you the best ways to make your delivery memorable and in control. However, in such situations, you need more precise guidance, so you can also go for a monthly one-day intensive course.

The one-day intensive course can be beneficial for you if you practise at home. You can always reach for help via phone or email and stay in touch. The purpose of hypnobirthing is to teach self-hypnosis, which needs constant practice so that you and your birthing partner are prepared for the final day. Also, it gives you confidence to tackle the situation in a composed way.

Hypnobirthing aims at creating a controlled and calm birthing experience for mothers. It is for those who want to stay prepared for the birth day and avoid any complications during labour. The main task is to control your nerves during this challenging time, and hypnobirthing helps you with this. The first time mothers are too afraid of labour. The mothers who want to go for a vaginal delivery after a caesarean might be put off, but hypnobirthing can help you relax and prepare yourself for the birth.

Self-hypnosis is an acquired skill, and it needs a lot of practice. It is also not only for childbirth, even after labour, but these hypnosis techniques can also be beneficial to release stress whenever you’re not in a good state of mind. Also, it helps your baby, and they will sense the calmness emanating from you.

Although there are many CDs related to relaxation in labour, they are not as useful or thorough as the online course. The online course will teach you everything step by step and in complete detail. You can also ask questions from your hypnobirthing teacher who provides the online classes.
