My husband and I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Emma to prepare for the birth of our first baby. Emma’s classes were both informative and relaxing and we both feel so prepared for a peaceful, natural birth at home, thanks to our HyponoBirthing practice. If you’re interested in HypnoBirthing, I would highly recommend working with Emma.
Emily, Berkhamsted
I couldn’t thank Emma enough for teaching me and my husband the art of Hypnobirthing. Even though I ended up being induced I still used the the Hypnobirthing method and had an incredible natural birth. I couldn’t recommend Emma enough, thank you!
Louise, Tring
Emma has a warm and intuitive teaching style. She guided me through my pregnancy and helped me overcome my birthing fears and have the most empowering and rewarding birthing experience. I actually enjoyed it. For that I am hugely thankful.
Sarah, Berkhamsted
The environment was positive and welcoming. The hypnobirthing course was informative, educational and provided us with the tools to have at the birth. I feel more knowledgeable and confident and my partner is now more involved in the process. We feel excited for the birth
Clare, Watford
I just want to say a massive thank you, the hypnobirthing skills you taught us on the course were invaluable during the birth. It gave us so much confidence, the whole experience was calm, anxiety free and positive.
Jessica, Leighton Buzzard
The course was really informative and I learnt so much about birth that I never knew. It was lovely to discuss concerns and other ideas for birth with other couples. I feel a lot calmer and positive about giving birth and more confident that I can handle whatever happens during our birthing experience. I have enjoyed the relaxations so much. I am glad I have plenty of them to listen to before our birthing day.
Amelia, Leighton Buzzard
I did not have any type of pain relief at all and the sensations I had were completely bearable. Iain was also really great, he stayed in control and calm, did the soft touch massage and was generally very soothing. I put my amazing birth experience down to the hypnobirthing lessons and doing the relaxations and birthing affirmations (almost) daily, so thank you for teaching Iain and I the skills we needed to make that happen.
Penny, Rickmansworth
Just to say many thanks. Had it not been for hypnobirthing, I would have not survived! Our baby Eden was born 23rd December and using the hypnobirthing tools saved me! I got to full dilation within 3 hours of the first sign of labour and the breathing literally took the pain away like an anaesthetic would, I was surprised how powerful it was. I cannot emphasise enough the empowerment, confidence, vital knowledge and coping tools that I gained from hypnobirthing. I rarely recommend courses but this is a must for every woman. To be candid I would advise this course is taught to every mother-to-be as standard, simply to equip women with the physical, emotional/mental skills & techniques required to undergo the powerful experience of childbirth; and to access the inner strength required for such a feat!

If you are living in St. Albans, you have the choice of Watford General Hospital or Luton & Dunstable Hospital, both about 20 minutes’ drive away. Both hospitals have birth centres attached to them which you can opt for if there have been no complications, or alternatively you can choose to give birth at home. Hypnobirthing often gives couples the confidence to opt for a home birth, preferring the privacy and peaceful familiar environment.

Hypnobirthing teaches essential fear release, self-hypnosis, and deep relaxation techniques, to help pregnant women experience easier birthing experiences. You can get more information on the subject by clicking the ‘What is Hypnobirthing’ tab on our Hypnobirthing Classes in St Albans webpage.
Hypnobirthing is an acquired skill, and the amount of practice you put into it will determine its success. It is possible to have a pain free labour with hypnobirthing. In fact, 69% of women who attended my course over a 2 year period did not require any form of pain relief. You can read more about their experiences on my blog.
It is less harmful to the baby as anything you ingest also affects your unborn child. You will also experience a faster recovery period as compared to women who use an epidural. Epidurals can also prolong labour and lead to further medical interventions and will require you to be monitored so it is difficult for you to move around freely and connect with your birthing body.
The ideal time is between your 20th and 30th week of pregnancy. For other course options, please do get in touch with me as I can still teach the 4-week course from 36 weeks.
Yes. With the 4-week course, you have enough time to practice all the techniques that you will learn during the class. I am also available to offer assistance after you complete the course.
Any pregnant woman seeking to experience a calmer childbirth experience is suitable. Home births, hospital births and birth centre births are all suitable.
Hypnosis is all about achieving a deep sense of relaxation. It is easy to learn and can be done by anybody. Practice is recommended for the best success.
When in complete relaxation, your brain releases endorphins that have a calming effect on the body. Your baby also feels the same. Furthermore, research shows that children born naturally are more alert and exhibit more interest in breastfeeding behaviours.
The recommended upload speed is not less than 2Mbps. You can check your internet speed by using this free tool http://www.speedtest.net.
Although convenient, you will not have the opportunity to ask questions or experience live demonstrations of the techniques that I teach in St Albans.
No matter where you are located, as long as you have a good internet connection, you take one of our classes in the comfort of your own home.
