My husband and I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Emma to prepare for the birth of our first baby. Emma’s classes were both informative and relaxing and we both feel so prepared for a peaceful, natural birth at home, thanks to our HyponoBirthing practice. If you’re interested in HypnoBirthing, I would highly recommend working with Emma.
Emily, Berkhamsted
I couldn’t thank Emma enough for teaching me and my husband the art of Hypnobirthing. Even though I ended up being induced I still used the the Hypnobirthing method and had an incredible natural birth. I couldn’t recommend Emma enough, thank you!

Emma has a warm and intuitive teaching style. She guided me through my pregnancy and helped me overcome my birthing fears and have the most empowering and rewarding birthing experience. I actually enjoyed it. For that I am hugely thankful.

The environment was positive and welcoming. The hypnobirthing course was informative, educational and provided us with the tools to have at the birth. I feel more knowledgeable and confident and my partner is now more involved in the process. We feel excited for the birth

I just want to say a massive thank you, the hypnobirthing skills you taught us on the course were invaluable during the birth. It gave us so much confidence, the whole experience was calm, anxiety free and positive.
Jessica, Leighton Buzzard
The course was really informative and I learnt so much about birth that I never knew. It was lovely to discuss concerns and other ideas for birth with other couples. I feel a lot calmer and positive about giving birth and more confident that I can handle whatever happens during our birthing experience. I have enjoyed the relaxations so much. I am glad I have plenty of them to listen to before our birthing day.
Amelia, Leighton Buzzard
I did not have any type of pain relief at all and the sensations I had were completely bearable. Iain was also really great, he stayed in control and calm, did the soft touch massage and was generally very soothing. I put my amazing birth experience down to the hypnobirthing lessons and doing the relaxations and birthing affirmations (almost) daily, so thank you for teaching Iain and I the skills we needed to make that happen.
Penny, Rickmansworth
Just to say many thanks. Had it not been for hypnobirthing, I would have not survived! Our baby Eden was born 23rd December and using the hypnobirthing tools saved me! I got to full dilation within 3 hours of the first sign of labour and the breathing literally took the pain away like an anaesthetic would, I was surprised how powerful it was. I cannot emphasise enough the empowerment, confidence, vital knowledge and coping tools that I gained from hypnobirthing. I rarely recommend courses but this is a must for every woman. To be candid I would advise this course is taught to every mother-to-be as standard, simply to equip women with the physical, emotional/mental skills & techniques required to undergo the powerful experience of childbirth; and to access the inner strength required for such a feat!

As hypnobirthing is an acquired skill, its success depend on how much practice you do. According to the studies carried out by Hypnobirthing Institute, about 65%-70% of hypnobirthing mothers do not require any kind of pain relief at the time of giving birth. 69% of my students who I studied over a 2 year period, did not require any kind of pain relief during labour. The Hypnobirthing Institute states that 20%-25% of women need some form of relief, such as gas and air, and only the remaining 5%-10% of women require medical intervention. My hypnobirthing students told me that even though there were some special conditions involved in their birth, hypnobirthing still helped them a great deal. You can read my blog, where I have shared experiences of different Hypnobirthing mothers.
Mothers who don’t need an epidural become more independent as they can move freely and do normal activities during labour, which is beneficial for them. Mothers can take better care of the baby and stay better connected with their birthing bodies. According to many mothers the recovery after a drug-free childbirth was quicker and relaxed. Researchers show that an epidural can extend the birthing time and can lead to other interventions, like vacuum
extraction and forceps. Even though at times it is essential to use medicines for pain relief, you should understand that any drugs that go in the mother’s body will also affect the unborn baby.
With hypnobirthing, the need for pain relief drugs is highly reduced. A drug-free birthing experience is valuable for both mother and baby, however, even if medical intervention is required, mothers can still use the practices learned through hypnobirthing, which enables them to stay positive and relaxed.
It is best to start the 4-week course between the 20th and 30th week of your pregnancy. You can still contact us if you are later than 30 weeks, however, and we will find a course for you if you are up to 36 weeks.
Yes. Self-hypnosis and deep relaxation are skills that need to be learned. For maximum success, you need to practise them between the weekly classes.
Any woman who wants her birth to be more comfortable and calmer should opt for hypnobirthing. Hypnobirthing does not only help first-time mothers by calming and preparing them but it also helps those who are on their second or subsequent pregnancies by helping them to feel more positive about the whole experience. The techniques are suitable for both home births and hospital or birth-centre births.
Hypnosis helps you to relax. You are still completely aware of your surroundings and are very
much in the present. Self-hypnosis can be learned easily on the course.
Hypnobirthing is helpful for the baby as well. If you are relaxed and calm, your baby will also
be relaxed and calm. According to researchers, in the process of natural childbirth, babies are more alert and interested in breastfeeding behaviours.
For the live online classes, you will preferably require a minimum upload speed of 2Mbps.
The best way to take a hypnobirthing course is live online with an instructor. You have a better opportunity to ask questions and learn the techniques.
No matter where you are located, as long as you have a good internet connection, you take one of our classes in the comfort of your own home.
