My husband and I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Emma to prepare for the birth of our first baby. Emma’s classes were both informative and relaxing and we both feel so prepared for a peaceful, natural birth at home, thanks to our HyponoBirthing practice. If you’re interested in HypnoBirthing, I would highly recommend working with Emma.
Emily, Berkhamsted
I couldn’t thank Emma enough for teaching me and my husband the art of Hypnobirthing. Even though I ended up being induced I still used the the Hypnobirthing method and had an incredible natural birth. I couldn’t recommend Emma enough, thank you!
Louise, Tring
Emma has a warm and intuitive teaching style. She guided me through my pregnancy and helped me overcome my birthing fears and have the most empowering and rewarding birthing experience. I actually enjoyed it. For that I am hugely thankful.
Sarah, Berkhamsted
The environment was positive and welcoming. The hypnobirthing course was informative, educational and provided us with the tools to have at the birth. I feel more knowledgeable and confident and my partner is now more involved in the process. We feel excited for the birth
Clare, Watford
I just want to say a massive thank you, the hypnobirthing skills you taught us on the course were invaluable during the birth. It gave us so much confidence, the whole experience was calm, anxiety free and positive.
Jessica, Leighton Buzzard
The course was really informative and I learnt so much about birth that I never knew. It was lovely to discuss concerns and other ideas for birth with other couples. I feel a lot calmer and positive about giving birth and more confident that I can handle whatever happens during our birthing experience. I have enjoyed the relaxations so much. I am glad I have plenty of them to listen to before our birthing day.
Amelia, Leighton Buzzard
I did not have any type of pain relief at all and the sensations I had were completely bearable. Iain was also really great, he stayed in control and calm, did the soft touch massage and was generally very soothing. I put my amazing birth experience down to the hypnobirthing lessons and doing the relaxations and birthing affirmations (almost) daily, so thank you for teaching Iain and I the skills we needed to make that happen.
Penny, Rickmansworth
Just to say many thanks. Had it not been for hypnobirthing, I would have not survived! Our baby Eden was born 23rd December and using the hypnobirthing tools saved me! I got to full dilation within 3 hours of the first sign of labour and the breathing literally took the pain away like an anaesthetic would, I was surprised how powerful it was. I cannot emphasise enough the empowerment, confidence, vital knowledge and coping tools that I gained from hypnobirthing. I rarely recommend courses but this is a must for every woman. To be candid I would advise this course is taught to every mother-to-be as standard, simply to equip women with the physical, emotional/mental skills & techniques required to undergo the powerful experience of childbirth; and to access the inner strength required for such a feat!

Some women choose a home birth because they like the familiarity and comfort of their home surroundings. Alternatively, couples may choose to give birth in a birth centre which has a ‘home from home’ feel with less medical equipment and an emphasis on natural birth. Sometimes you may be required to give birth in a labour ward due to your specific circumstances. Speak to your midwife for more information or take an interactive tour:

Homeopathy uses highly diluted substances which cause the body to heal itself. Your GP and midwife should be the first people you speak to about any medical issues, but homeopathic practitioners can also assist you, particularly if you are restricted from taking some medications during pregnancy. Practitioners can give you labour kits which can be used instead of traditional methods of pain relief during labour. Always consult with your GP or midwife before booking an appointment.

It can be a very useful aid during pregnancy for problems with your digestive system, breathing, swelling, aches, pains and morning sickness. Acupuncture is a relatively painless procedure but always consult with your GP or midwife before booking a session.

To effectively enjoy the benefits of Hypnobirthing you will need to practice the techniques you learn to execute them successfully. According to the Hypnobirthing Institute, 65-70% of hypnobirthing women do not require any pain relief during childbirth. Please visit my blog to read first-hand experiences from mothers who have taken my class.
Studies show that an epidural not only prolongs your birthing time, it also increases the chances of other interventions such as vacuum extractions and forceps. Without an epidural, you can move freely and change your position during labour, which is vital if the baby is in a challenging birthing position. Hypnobirthing allows you better control of your body, making the process a lot smoother.
It is best to start the 4-week course between the 20th and 30th week of your pregnancy. Hypnobirthing classes in Ipswich are also available for you if you are later than 30 weeks. Please get in touch, and we should be able to find a course for you.
Yes. Deep relaxation and self-hypnosis are skills you acquire over time. The 4-week course we offer at Hypnobirthing Ipswich allows for sufficient practice time to master these skills. I am still available, even after the classes, to assist you.
Any woman who wants to feel better prepared and confident about birth. Whether, you are a first-time mum, or on your fifth pregnancy, the techniques you learn from online hypnobirthing classes are still applicable.
Hypnosis is not what you see on television and movies. It is a state of relaxation. You are fully aware of your surroundings. The more you practice, the easier it is for you to achieve this state. Self-hypnosis is not for the birthing process only. You can also use it to cope with any other stressful situations you will face in your everyday life.
When in deep relaxation, your body releases endorphins that calm your body. The same effect passes to your baby in the womb. In this state, your baby goes through the birthing journey much smoother. Studies show that naturally born babies show more interest in breastfeeding behaviours like sucking and cupping the mother’s breast, and are more alert.
