Introduction

Welcome to Together Birthing and congratulations on your pregnancy. If you are looking for hypnobirthing classes in Hemel Hempstead, my 4-week live, interactive online hypnobirthing courses are taught for couples in and around Hemel Hempstead.

My name is Emma, and I’m a hypnoBirthing mum and practitioner with a passion for what I teach! I trained with the Hypnobirthing Institute in 2014 and more recently with the Hypnobirthing Training Academy in 2016.

The course that I teach comprises 4 x 2 hour weekly live online classes via Zoom, either as a small group or privately and includes 9 relaxation downloads and a course companion book.

Having done hypnobirthing myself, I’ve experienced first-hand the huge difference that hypnobirthing skills can make to the experience of labour and birth. I love sharing the marvel of hypnobirthing with other parents-to-be so that they too can fulfil their potential to birth more calmly and in control.

    FAQs

Check out my ‘What is Hypnobirthing’ page to learn all you need to know about hypnobirthing.

Since hypnobirthing is an acquired skill, its success depends, to a certain extent, on how much practice you put in. According to the Hypnobirthing Institute, 20%-25% of hypnobirthing mums just need gas and air during childbirth while 5%-10% experience ‘special circumstances’ where medical intervention is needed. All other hypnobirthing mums (65-70%) don’t need any form of pain relief.

A recent study shows that an epidural can increase labour time, prevents free movement during labour and increases the likelihood of further interventions. Also, drugs can be passed on to the baby if ingested by the mother and mums recover faster after a natural delivery.

You can join us after your 20th pregnancy week and ideally before your 30th week. If you are later than 30 weeks, please do get in touch as we should still be able fit you in, especially if you are 36 weeks or less.

Yes, self-hypnosis is more effective when you practise at home. My 4-week hypnobirthing course gives you enough time to practise in between classes.

People can benefit from hypnobirthing in several ways. First-time mums without prior birthing experience can feel prepared and get rid of any fears . Mothers in their subsequent pregnancies might look toward to a less painful experience. If they’ve had a C-section before, it can help them deliver vaginally.

Hypnosis is nothing more than allowing yourself to enter a state of relaxation. Self-hypnosis is a skill that is easy to learn and can be improved on throughout the 4-week course.

Yes, because hypnobirthing keeps you calm and thus, your baby as well. You release endorphins when you’re in a peaceful state – the body’s natural relaxant. These are also found in the placenta and umbilical cord. So, your baby feels the same calming sensations while in your womb.
