The advantages that can be availed through Hypnobirthing in Essex are as follows:
My husband and I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Emma to prepare for the birth of our first baby. Emma’s classes were both informative and relaxing and we both feel so prepared for a peaceful, natural birth at home, thanks to our HyponoBirthing practice. If you’re interested in HypnoBirthing, I would highly recommend working with Emma.
Emily, Berkhamsted
I couldn’t thank Emma enough for teaching me and my husband the art of Hypnobirthing. Even though I ended up being induced I still used the the Hypnobirthing method and had an incredible natural birth. I couldn’t recommend Emma enough, thank you!

Emma has a warm and intuitive teaching style. She guided me through my pregnancy and helped me overcome my birthing fears and have the most empowering and rewarding birthing experience. I actually enjoyed it. For that I am hugely thankful.
Sarah, Berkhamsted
The environment was positive and welcoming. The hypnobirthing course was informative, educational and provided us with the tools to have at the birth. I feel more knowledgeable and confident and my partner is now more involved in the process. We feel excited for the birth

I just want to say a massive thank you, the hypnobirthing skills you taught us on the course were invaluable during the birth. It gave us so much confidence, the whole experience was calm, anxiety free and positive.
Jessica, Leighton Buzzard
The course was really informative and I learnt so much about birth that I never knew. It was lovely to discuss concerns and other ideas for birth with other couples. I feel a lot calmer and positive about giving birth and more confident that I can handle whatever happens during our birthing experience. I have enjoyed the relaxations so much. I am glad I have plenty of them to listen to before our birthing day.
Amelia, Leighton Buzzard
I did not have any type of pain relief at all and the sensations I had were completely bearable. Iain was also really great, he stayed in control and calm, did the soft touch massage and was generally very soothing. I put my amazing birth experience down to the hypnobirthing lessons and doing the relaxations and birthing affirmations (almost) daily, so thank you for teaching Iain and I the skills we needed to make that happen.
Penny, Rickmansworth
Just to say many thanks. Had it not been for hypnobirthing, I would have not survived! Our baby Eden was born 23rd December and using the hypnobirthing tools saved me! I got to full dilation within 3 hours of the first sign of labour and the breathing literally took the pain away like an anaesthetic would, I was surprised how powerful it was. I cannot emphasise enough the empowerment, confidence, vital knowledge and coping tools that I gained from hypnobirthing. I rarely recommend courses but this is a must for every woman. To be candid I would advise this course is taught to every mother-to-be as standard, simply to equip women with the physical, emotional/mental skills & techniques required to undergo the powerful experience of childbirth; and to access the inner strength required for such a feat!

Hypnobirthing is a technique which is used to teach pregnant women to give birth in a relaxed way. Self-hypnosis is a technique that is widely used in Online Hypnobirthing Classes. To learn more, visit ‘What is Hypnobirthing?’ on the website.
Hypnobirthing is a learned skill and its success is totally dependent on the amount of practise that has been carried out during the course. According to the Hypnobirthing Institute, around 65%-70% of hypnobirthing mothers do not require any type of pain relief. 20%-25% of hypnobirthing mothers need something light relief, such as air and gas and the remaining 5%-10% mostly have special circumstances in which medical intervention is necessary.
Those hypnobirthing mothers who have faced special circumstances report that hypnobirthing techniques still helped them even if they had to opt for a caesarean. The objective of hypnobirthing is to teach you a positive birth experience so that you can stay calm and relaxed no matter what circumstances you experience.
It is a fact that those mothers who give birth without an epidural can walk easily, they can go to the bathroom on their own and even change positions throughout labour. This is very important in those situations when the baby is in a challenging position for birth. Mothers, while staying connected to their birthing bodies, can breathe their baby down more easily and usually faster.
Studies conclude that an epidural extends the birthing time and raises the chances of other medical treatment such as vacuum extraction. Parents should also know that any type of drug a mother takes also affects her baby. Mothers report that their recovery was much faster after a drug-free childbirth. Hypnobirthing provides the best opportunity for a drug-free birth as it reduces the need of pain relief. A drug-free birth is the ideal scenario for both mother and baby.
You should start your course between the 20th and 30th week of your pregnancy as it is the ideal time to learn about hypnobirthing. If you are later than this, for instance, up to the 36th week of your pregnancy, you can still be fitted into the course, so please do get in touch.
Yes. Deep relaxation and self-hypnosis are acquired skills which need enough practice to work effectively. These techniques should be practised during and after the 4-week course. The time period of 4 weeks is sufficient for you and your birth companion to prepare completely and feel relaxed while approaching your birthing day.
Hypnobirthing is not limited to any specific type of person. It is effective for everyone who intends to feel confident about birthing. First-time mothers without any previous experience of childbirth find it helpful to fully prepare for birth. Those who are pregnant with their second or subsequent child may wish to opt for a different approach to childbirth because of a previous difficult experience. In the same way, mothers who had a caesarean and wish for a vaginal birth, find hypnobirthing very helpful in releasing fear and anxieties about vaginal birth. Hypnobirthing techniques are effective for both home births and hospital or birth centre births.
Hypnosis is about experiencing a state of relaxation during which you are still aware of things happening around you. Self-hypnosis is the basic technique of hypnobirthing which is simple to learn and can be improved throughout the course. During the hypnobirthing course you will learn much more about self-hypnosis as it is a philosophy to pregnancy and childbirth. With the help of relaxation techniques, you will learn how to stay calm and stress free even after childbirth.
Hypnobirthing is very beneficial for your baby as well. Your baby can sense how you feel, so whenever you feel calm and relaxed your baby will get those same feelings, too. Endorphins are released when your body is in a calm state during childbirth. This will help the baby to adjust to the outside world and it will make the process of birth easier. Research has proven that babies of mothers having natural childbirth are more alert and take more interest in different behaviours, for instance, breast feeding.
