During the course, we explore several topics that will ensure an easier and calmer birth, including:
My husband and I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Emma to prepare for the birth of our first baby. Emma’s classes were both informative and relaxing and we both feel so prepared for a peaceful, natural birth at home, thanks to our HyponoBirthing practice. If you’re interested in HypnoBirthing, I would highly recommend working with Emma.

I couldn’t thank Emma enough for teaching me and my husband the art of Hypnobirthing. Even though I ended up being induced I still used the the Hypnobirthing method and had an incredible natural birth. I couldn’t recommend Emma enough, thank you!

Emma has a warm and intuitive teaching style. She guided me through my pregnancy and helped me overcome my birthing fears and have the most empowering and rewarding birthing experience. I actually enjoyed it. For that I am hugely thankful.

The environment was positive and welcoming. The hypnobirthing course was informative, educational and provided us with the tools to have at the birth. I feel more knowledgeable and confident and my partner is now more involved in the process. We feel excited for the birth

I just want to say a massive thank you, the hypnobirthing skills you taught us on the course were invaluable during the birth. It gave us so much confidence, the whole experience was calm, anxiety free and positive.
Jessica, Leighton Buzzard
The course was really informative and I learnt so much about birth that I never knew. It was lovely to discuss concerns and other ideas for birth with other couples. I feel a lot calmer and positive about giving birth and more confident that I can handle whatever happens during our birthing experience. I have enjoyed the relaxations so much. I am glad I have plenty of them to listen to before our birthing day.
Amelia, Leighton Buzzard
I did not have any type of pain relief at all and the sensations I had were completely bearable. Iain was also really great, he stayed in control and calm, did the soft touch massage and was generally very soothing. I put my amazing birth experience down to the hypnobirthing lessons and doing the relaxations and birthing affirmations (almost) daily, so thank you for teaching Iain and I the skills we needed to make that happen.
Penny, Rickmansworth
Just to say many thanks. Had it not been for hypnobirthing, I would have not survived! Our baby Eden was born 23rd December and using the hypnobirthing tools saved me! I got to full dilation within 3 hours of the first sign of labour and the breathing literally took the pain away like an anaesthetic would, I was surprised how powerful it was. I cannot emphasise enough the empowerment, confidence, vital knowledge and coping tools that I gained from hypnobirthing. I rarely recommend courses but this is a must for every woman. To be candid I would advise this course is taught to every mother-to-be as standard, simply to equip women with the physical, emotional/mental skills & techniques required to undergo the powerful experience of childbirth; and to access the inner strength required for such a feat!

A pain-free labour is possible with hypnobirthing but every mother’s birth is different, so it cannot be guaranteed. I can assure you, however, that hypnobirthig will help no matter what the circumstances. Approx. 70% of the mothers that I taught over a 2 year period, did not need any form of pain relief during labour. According to the Hypnobirthing Institute, 20-25% need gas and air and 10% experience special circumstances. Mothers that did need medical intervention due to special circumstances, still said that hypnobirthing was really helpful during the birth. Read some birth stories on my blog.
Mothers who give birth drug-free recover much faster and easier. Attending online hypnobirthing classes in Edinburgh equips you with the techniques to reduce your reliance on pain relieving drugs. Studies show that epidurals can prolong labour and often lead to further intervention. Also, drugs can be passed on to your baby.
You can enrol for the hypnobirthing classes in Edinburgh between your 20th and 30th week of pregnancy, however later than this is also fine. Please get in touch with us for more details.
As with any skill, self-hypnosis and deep relaxation require practice. The 4-week course gives you enough time to hone your skills to get you ready for your birthing day. The more practice you put in the better the results you should expect.
Whether it is the hospital, home or at a birthing centre, hypnobirthing techniques are still suitable. The techniques aim to make you feel more at ease by building your confidence and managing your anxiety. Most of the mothers that I work with are first-time mothers who have no prior experience of childbirth. However, those with subsequent pregnancies looking for a better experience and those wishing to have a vaginal birth after caesarean also take the course.
Hypnosis is not as it is depicted on television. It is simply a state of relaxation which is easy to do. As you progress through the course, self-hypnosis can be easily mastered.
Your baby benefits greatly from hypnobirthing. When you are relaxed, the same effect is felt by your baby. The womb is more relaxed, making it easier for your baby to manoeuvre out into the world. Scientific studies have shown that endorphins, hormones that calm the body, are present in the placenta and umbilical cord after delivery. Similarly, naturally delivered babies are more responsive to breastfeeding behaviours.

The best way to take a hypnobirthing course is online with an instructor. You have a better opportunity to ask questions and learn the techniques.
No matter where you are located, as long as you have a good internet connection, you take one of our classes in the comfort of your own home.
