Introduction

Congratulations on your pregnancy and welcome to Together Birthing. My name is Emma and I am a hypnobirthing mum and qualified hypnobirthing practitioner. I offer live online classes in Colchester for expectant couples, and I teach hypnobirthing with passion and pride.

My training is from the Hypnobirthing Institute in 2014 and the Hypnobirthing Training Academy by Jenny Mullan in 2016. The course includes a course companion book and 9 relaxation downloads.

For couples living in the Colchester area, I fully prepare you and your birth partner for your baby’s birth through a complete childbirth education programme, consisting of 4 x 2 hour weekly online classes.

I am also a hypnobirthing mum, so I know first-hand the key role hypnobirthing techniques play in the birthing experience. I would love to share my knowledge and experience with you, so you too can experience an easier and calmer birth.

    FAQs

You can read and learn more about Hypnobirthing, how it can help you and how it works on our ‘What is Hypnobirthing’ page.

The success of hypnobirthing depends upon the amount of practice done after the classes as it is an acquired skill. A pain free labour and birth is possible with hypnobirthing. Read the individual birth-story experiences on my blog to find out about other mums’ experiences. According to the Hypnobirthing Institute, 65-70% of mums do not need any other pain relief and 20-25% only need low levels of pain relief such as gas and air.

For both mother and baby, a drug-free birthing experience is very beneficial, as anything ingested by the mother has a direct effect on the baby as well. After drug-free childbirth mothers have a faster and easier recovery. Hypnobirthing reduces the need for pain relief and gives you the best opportunity for a drug-free birth.

The timeframe between the 20th (after your 20-week scan) and 30th week of your pregnancy is the best to start the 4-week course. We can offer you a course even if you are later than 30 weeks so please do still get in touch.

Absolutely, yes. Acquired skills such as self-hypnosis and deep relaxation become more effective when they have been learned with sufficient practice time between weekly classes.

To answer your queries after the course I will be available on via phone and email.

If you want to feel more prepared and confident about birth then hypnobirthing is the right option for you. From first-time mums who want to feel prepared, to mothers who are on their second or subsequent pregnancies and want an alternative approach for childbirth, or to mothers who wish to have a vaginal birth after caesarean. Anyone can benefit from hypnobirthing. These hypnobirthing techniques are beneficial for both home births and hospital or birth-centre births.

Through hypnosis, you just enter a state of relaxation so there is nothing strange about it. You can easily learn and improve self-hypnosis throughout the course.

Your baby feels exactly what you feel so hypnobirthing is beneficial for your baby. Every time you become relaxed, positive, and calm, your baby will enjoy the same calmness in your womb. Mothers who have had natural childbirth are more alert and show more interest in breastfeeding behaviours according to the latest research.

Check the upload speed of your computer for online hypnobirthing classes through this tool http://www.speedtest.net. You will need a minimum upload speed of 2Mbps to enjoy these live online hypnobirthing classes.

You will find many CDs and MP3s on the market regarding hypnobirthing but they are not as effective as actually doing a live online course. This online course will ensure that you learn every essential technique for birth. You will develop a deep understanding of hypnobirthing and skills necessary for achieving a calmer relaxed state for birth with interactive classes when you can ask questions.
