Introduction

Welcome to Together Birthing and accept my good wishes for your birth. I'm Emma, a hypnobirthing mum and qualified hypnobirthing practitioner with a passion for what I teach, offering live online classes for couples in Cheshire. In 2014, I qualified from the Hypnobirthing Institute, and in 2016 I qualified from the Hypnobirthing Training Academy, having undergone my training with Jenny Mullan, one of the first hypnobirthing trainers in the UK, whose training course is accredited by the Royal College of Midwives.

I teach 4 x 2 hour weekly immersive hypnobirthing classes online and offer a comprehensive childbirth education programme to completely prepare you and your birth partner for the birth of your baby. As a hypnobirthing mum myself, I know first-hand what a huge difference the techniques and philosophy of hypnobirthing can bring to the birth process. I love to share the magic of hypnobirthing with other parents-to-be so that they too can experience a calmer and easier birth.

    FAQs

Hypnobirthing is a technique to improve the overall birthing experience. If you want to learn more about it then visit ‘What is Hypnobirthing’ page.

Hypnobirthing is a set of techniques and a philosophy about birth to prepare your mind and body for the labour and delivery. The effectiveness of these techniques depends on how much you practise. A completely pain-free birth is possible with hypnobirthing, however every woman is different so it cannot be absolutely guaranteed. Hypnobirthing classes in Cheshire help you acquire this skill and let you practise it in the best way possible. The research work of Hypnobirthing Institute found that 65%-70% of hypnobirthing mums give birth without pain-relief medicines. 20%-25% of these women require mild pain relief and only 5%-10% mothers experienced special circumstances. with medical intervention. In my case, 69% of the women who I researched on my course gave birth without any form of pain relief during labour. The important point is that even my students who needed medical intervention during delivery found hypnobirthing very helpful. You can read their stories on my blog.

Drug-free birth has many advantages over common birth methods. Epidurals, for instance, limit a mother’s movement during birth. The underlying benefit of a drug-free birth is a heightened connection with the body. Mothers can breath the baby down more easily. Not only that, but epidurals increase the risk of vacuum extraction and forceps. Whenever a drug is ingested in a mother’s body, it has an effect on the baby. This is the core reason why most of the expecting mothers select a drug-free birth as their first preference.

Hypnobirthing is the safest method for mothers who fear pain during birth. Sometimes medical intervention becomes necessary for mothers. World Health Organization stats reveal that nearly 10% of births require medical supervision. Hypnobirthing helps you develop a calm state of mind and the ability to stay in control if special circumstances arise and provides specific techniques which help to provide a positive birth experience, no matter what the circumstances.

The best time for a hypnobirthing course is in between the 20th and 30th week of your pregnancy. However if you are later than your 30th week, you can still join a course, just get in touch to find out what your options are.

Yes, you need to practise at home because hypnobirthing and deep relaxation are acquired skills. The full course allows you and your birth companion to prepare and become relaxed for the birthing day. If you need guidance, I will remain available via phone or email.

Hypnobirthing suits anyone who fears labour or who wants to be more prepared for birth and have a more comfortable delivery. Typically, mothers who have no previous childbirth experience are suited to hypnobirthing. Moreover, it can also suit those mothers who have already had a baby and are now looking for an alternative and easier way to give birth. It is a good choice for mothers who want to avoid too much pain during childbirth and want to remain connected with their birthing bodies. It is suitable for hospital births and birthing centres, and is also a common technique practised at home.

Hypnosis is just a state of relaxation where you can still remain aware of your surroundings. Self-hypnosis is an acquired skill meaning that you have to practise it, however it is easy to learn. The hypnobirthing course involves much more than simply learning self-hypnosis; it is a whole philosophy and approach to pregnancy and childbirth. Furthermore, after the birth, the relaxation techniques can be really useful for helping you to relax in times of stress.

It is now widely known that a baby in the mother’s womb shares the same feelings of his or her mother, therefore mums should remain calm to keep their baby calm, and hypnobirthing can help mothers achieve this goal. A relaxed mother releases endorphins which will benefit her baby. This is a natural relaxant for babies and also helps them to adjust to the outside world after being born. Moreover, naturally born babies are find it easier to breastfeed and they are more alert. Hypnobirthing techniques can provide all these benefits to your baby.

Yes, online classes include video streaming therefore you must have stable internet connection with minimum download and upload speed of 2Mbps. You can check your internet speed at http://www.speedtest.net.

Downloads are a good source of information but to understand and implement a technique you must interact with your instructor. Live online classes allow you to interact with your instructor and are the best way to learn all the key techniques.
