My husband and I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Emma to prepare for the birth of our first baby. Emma’s classes were both informative and relaxing and we both feel so prepared for a peaceful, natural birth at home, thanks to our HyponoBirthing practice. If you’re interested in HypnoBirthing, I would highly recommend working with Emma.
Emily, Berkhamsted
I couldn’t thank Emma enough for teaching me and my husband the art of Hypnobirthing. Even though I ended up being induced I still used the the Hypnobirthing method and had an incredible natural birth. I couldn’t recommend Emma enough, thank you!

Emma has a warm and intuitive teaching style. She guided me through my pregnancy and helped me overcome my birthing fears and have the most empowering and rewarding birthing experience. I actually enjoyed it. For that I am hugely thankful.
Sarah, Berkhamsted
The environment was positive and welcoming. The hypnobirthing course was informative, educational and provided us with the tools to have at the birth. I feel more knowledgeable and confident and my partner is now more involved in the process. We feel excited for the birth

I just want to say a massive thank you, the hypnobirthing skills you taught us on the course were invaluable during the birth. It gave us so much confidence, the whole experience was calm, anxiety free and positive.
Jessica, Leighton Buzzard
The course was really informative and I learnt so much about birth that I never knew. It was lovely to discuss concerns and other ideas for birth with other couples. I feel a lot calmer and positive about giving birth and more confident that I can handle whatever happens during our birthing experience. I have enjoyed the relaxations so much. I am glad I have plenty of them to listen to before our birthing day.
Amelia, Leighton Buzzard
I did not have any type of pain relief at all and the sensations I had were completely bearable. Iain was also really great, he stayed in control and calm, did the soft touch massage and was generally very soothing. I put my amazing birth experience down to the hypnobirthing lessons and doing the relaxations and birthing affirmations (almost) daily, so thank you for teaching Iain and I the skills we needed to make that happen.
Penny, Rickmansworth
Just to say many thanks. Had it not been for hypnobirthing, I would have not survived! Our baby Eden was born 23rd December and using the hypnobirthing tools saved me! I got to full dilation within 3 hours of the first sign of labour and the breathing literally took the pain away like an anaesthetic would, I was surprised how powerful it was. I cannot emphasise enough the empowerment, confidence, vital knowledge and coping tools that I gained from hypnobirthing. I rarely recommend courses but this is a must for every woman. To be candid I would advise this course is taught to every mother-to-be as standard, simply to equip women with the physical, emotional/mental skills & techniques required to undergo the powerful experience of childbirth; and to access the inner strength required for such a feat!

For more on what hypnobirthing is, please visit the ‘What is Hypnobirthing’ tab, on the Hypnobirthing Classes London homepage.
Hypnobirthing is a skill you acquire over time – you need enough practice to perform it successfully. The aim of the course I teach is to help you have a more positive birth experience, regardless of the circumstances. Most women experience an easier labour where they do not need any other form of pain relief. Some women do experience completely pain-free labours. A small proportion need gas and air whilst an even smaller proportion experience special circumstances where medical intervention is needed. You can read the first-hand experiences of women that have taken the course on my blog.
Anything you ingest directly affects your baby. It may sometimes be necessary to use pain relieving drugs, but you need to be wary of how it will affect your baby. Mothers who give birth without epidurals can move freely and can switch positions. Hypnobirthing gives you better control of your body and helps you manage pain, allowing you to breathe the baby down better.
Studies show that using epidurals not only prolongs your birthing period but also increases the chances of other interventions such as forceps and vacuum release.
The best time is when you are between the 20th and 30th week of your pregnancy. However, we do have other courses available for you if you are past your 30th week. Kindly get in touch with us at Hypnobirthing classes London for more details.
As with any skill, self-hypnosis and deep relaxation develop over time. The amount of practice you put in will determine how successful you will be. I am available on the phone or via email if you require assistance after the course.
Hypnobirthing is for any woman who wants to feel more confident and prepared about birth. I teach first-time mums, mums of subsequent births and those who wish to have a vaginal birth after caesarean.
Hypnosis is in no way the same as it appears in film and television. You are simply in a state of deep relaxation. All your other reactions are still normal, and you are fully aware of your surroundings. With sufficient practice, you will be able to achieve this state with ease. Furthermore, the relaxation techniques you learn at Hypnobirthing London can help in stressful situations in your daily life.
The endorphins that your brain releases during relaxation also pass through to your baby. They are also present in the placenta and umbilical cord post-birth. As your baby adjusts to life outside the womb, the endorphins enable them to feel calm and relaxed. Research also shows that babies born of mothers who have natural childbirth are more alert and show more interest in breastfeeding behaviours.
We recommend a minimum upload speed of 2Mbps. You can test your internet speed using this free online tool http://www.speedtest.net.
There are plenty of downloads on the market that are useful for relaxation during pregnancy. However, these are not as effective during childbirth compared with the live interactive online hypnobirthing classes. The courses I teach, ensure that you learn the techniques necessary for success and can ask questions whenever you need to.
No matter where you are located, as long as you have a good internet connection, you take one of our classes in the comfort of your own home.
