Introduction

Welcome to Together Birthing and congratulations on your pregnancy! My name is Emma, and I am a passionate hypnobirthing practitioner and hypnobirthing mum serving women and couples looking for hypnobirthing classes in Bedfordshire. I teach online hypnobirthing classes to help mums-to-be and their birth partners prepare for a more positive and empowering birth experience. My second child's birth was wonderful as I had the benefit of hypnobirthing. In fact, I felt so inspired by the experience that I decided to help other people do the same.

I trained with the HypnoBirthing Institute in 2014 and now teach the Hypnobirthing by Jenny Mullan course, after qualifying with the Hypnobirthing Training Academy in 2016. It is with enthusiasm and passion that I help other parents-to-be prepare for a calmer, easier birth, without fear.

The hypnobirthing classes that I offer in the Bedfordshire area, enable you to learn the techniques that you need to make birth a more positive and manageable experience, even if you have previously had a difficult birth.

    Birth choices in Bedfordshire

Women regularly use HypnoBirthing to deliver their child in the comfort of their own home, preferring the relaxed familiar surroundings. Some parents, however, do prefer to go to a hospital and may have to for medical reasons. The Luton and Dunstable or Milton Keynes hospitals both offer maternity services. Luton and Dunstable hospital is conveniently located in Dunstable and offers a birth centre environment as well as a labour ward. The birth centre is entirely run by midwives for women who are considered low risk. The environment is less medical than the labour ward and has a ‘home from home’ feel, with an emphasis on natural birth. A birth pool is usually available on the labour ward and the birth centre at the Luton & Dunstable hospital. Speak to your midwife for more information or book a tour.

    FAQs

Check out our ‘What is Hypnobirthing’ page to learn all about what it is and how it works.

According to the Hypnobirthing Institute, around 65%-70% of hypnobirthing mums don’t need pain relief, 20%-25% only need mild forms, and the rest 5%-10% require medical intervention as the last resort. The important thing to understand is that hypnobirthing is an acquired skill so its success relies heavily on practice and dedication. Even under special circumstances, it’ll still help you stay calm. You can read different stories of hypnobirthing mums on my blog.

An epidural mostly adds unwanted complications to the labour process. Mums are usually unable to walk freely or even change birthing positions after an epidural. Actually, studies show that epidurals can prolong birthing time and increase the probability of other medical intervention. Moreover, recovery is usually faster after a drug-free delivery. It’s also good for the baby.

You should start the course between your 20th and 30th weeks of pregnancy. If you’re later than that, we can still fit the course in for you; so, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Certainly, because hypnobirthing is an acquired skill; thus, it’s only as good as the amount of practice you put into it. The 4-week course gives you and your partner ample time to feel fully confident as your birthing day nears.

Hypnobirthing is ideal for anyone who wants to boost their confidence and knowledge regarding pregnancy and childbirth. First-time mums who don’t know what to expect greatly benefit from our online hypnobirthing classes. It’s also ideal for mums on their subsequent pregnancies who are looking for a different approach. Similarly, mums who’ve undergone C-section can look towards hypnobirthing techniques to deliver vaginally.

Hypnosis is nothing out of the ordinary – it’s only a means to help you enter into relaxation. You’ll be completely aware at all times. For it to work best, you need to perfect your skills by practicing between your weekly online classes.  Moreover, you should know that our hypnobirthing classes in Bedfordshire involve a lot more than merely learning self-hypnosis; it’s a whole new outlook on pregnancy and childbirth.

Yes, because when you’re calm, your body releases endorphins – the body’s natural relaxant. These have been found in the placenta and the umbilical cord. So, your baby feels exactly what you’re feeling. Whenever you’re relaxed and calm, your baby enjoys the same sensations in your womb.
