Introduction

I am Emma and I would like to welcome you to Together Birthing. If you are a mum to be, then accept my warm congratulations on your pregnancy. As a hypnobirthing mum myself and a hypnobirthing practitioner, I love to teach online hypnobirthing classes to help other parents-to-be have an enjoyable birth experience. I provide a complete childbirth education programme for parents-to-be in the Bedford area so that they can become fully prepared for labour and childbirth.

I received my professional training in 2014 and 2016 from the Hypnobirthing Institute and the Hypnobirthing Training Academy, with Jenny Mullan, who's training course is accredited by the Royal College of Midwives. You can experience an easier and calmer birth with the techniques that you learn on this course, together with my first hand experience as a hypnobirthing mum. Hypnobirthing techniques contribute greatly to keep you calm and relaxed during labour and birth.

This can cause many problems such as inconsolable crying due to headache, feeding problems, constipation or colic.

    FAQs

What is Hypnobirthing, how it can help you and how it works? Learn about every aspect of hypnobirthing on our ‘What is Hypnobirthing’ page.

You can master the art of hypnobirthing through practice. The more you will practise, the more skilled you will be because it is an acquired skill. Around 65%-70% of hypnobirthing mums do not need any form of pain relief according to the Hypnobirthing Institute.

Moreover, 20%-25% require something mild, like gas and air, and only 5%-10% usually experience ‘special circumstances’ where they need medical intervention. You can have a better and positive experience through hypnobirthing.

You can move freely, go to the bathroom, walk and change positions easily throughout the labour if you haven’t had an epidural. These simple things are very important if the baby is in a difficult birthing position. Hypnobirthing decreases the need for pain relief and gives you the best opportunity for a drug-free birth. A drug-free birth is beneficial for both mother and baby.

During the 20th (after your 20-week scan) and 30th week of your pregnancy you can start the 4-week course. Please get in touch with us if you are in the 30 weeks of your pregnancy as we would still be able to offer you an online hypnobirthing class. A one-day intensive course is also offered monthly.

Yes, you need to practise at home as hypnobirthing is an acquired skill. The 4-week course enables you and your birth companion to feel fully prepared and relaxed, whereas the one-day intensive hypnobirthing course is best done a few weeks before your due date to give you the time to practise the skills. I will be available to answer all your queries via phone or email.

Hypnobirthing is opted by first-time mums, mothers who are on their second or subsequent pregnancies and want a different approach to childbirth, or mothers who just want a better or positive experience. Anyone who wants a calm and relaxed birthing experience can choose hypnobirthing.

Hypnosis is just about entering a state of relaxation and there is nothing wrong with it. You can still chat normally if necessary and be fully aware of what is going on around you.

When your body is in a calm state during childbirth it releases endorphins which are the natural relaxant of the body and are found in the placenta and umbilical cord. These help the baby to adjust to life outside the womb as well as make your birth journey comfier. Mothers who have had natural childbirth are more alert. So, hypnobirthing helps your baby.

To attend the online hypnobirthing classes you will need a minimum upload speed of 2Mbps. Check your computer speed on http://www.speedtest.net.

Live online hypnobirthing classes serve you best. You interact live with the instructor and get instant feedback on anything that you do which is useful when learning the techniques.
